Gateau(Swiss Pound Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs (save whites)
    4 c. flour
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. grated lemon rind
    2 packets (2 tsp.) vanilla sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. white raisins
    1/2 c. ground almonds (optional)
Preparation
    Cream butter; add sugar and egg yolks, one at a time.
    Add flour, baking powder, lemon peel, raisins and milk.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0 or until done in greased loaf pan.
    Light and delicious!
