Cookin' Beef Supper - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp. oil
    2 lb. cubed beef (round/sirloin)
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained (reserve syrup)
    1/3 c. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 small green pepper, sliced
    6 to 8 mushrooms, sliced
    1 c. celery, sliced
    1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, sliced
Preparation
    Heat oil in wok or large skillet.
    Cook and stir meat and onion until onion is tender and meat is almost done.
    Add water, the reserved mandarin orange syrup, soy sauce and ginger.
    Heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat and cover.
    Simmer as long as desired to tenderize the meat.
