3 Autumn Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar, divided
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    6 Granny Smith or Golden Delicious apples (3 1/2 lb.), peeled, cored and cut into thin wedges, divided
    1 unbaked (9-inch) pie shell
    1/2 c. apple jelly
Preparation
    Mix 1/2 cup of sugar, the flour and cinnamon.
    Add to half of the apples.
    Toss to coat.
    Turn apple mixture into pie shell, mounding slightly in center.
    Arrange remaining apples on top, slightly overlapping in concentric circles.
    Sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar.
    Bake on middle rack in preheated 400\u00b0 oven for 40 to 50 minutes, until crust is browned and apples cooked through.
    If necessary, cover the crust with strips of foil to prevent excessive browning.
    Stir jelly over low heat until melted; brush on top of hot pie.
