Kosher Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. water
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 c. salt
    1 tsp. dill
    2 garlic buds
    1 tsp. powdered alum
    hot pepper
Preparation
    Mix vinegar, salt and water to rowing boil.
    Put garlic buds, pepper and dill in bottom of jar.
    Pack cucumbers in jars.
    Pour real hot mixture over this and add alum on top; seal.
    Allow to settle 4 to 6 weeks before eating.
