Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/4 c. water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine (soft)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. raw shelled peanuts
Preparation
    In a heavy, medium saucepan over medium heat, heat to boiling sugar, corn syrup, salt and water, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.
    Stir in peanuts.
    Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until mixture reaches 300\u00b0 on
    a candy thermometer or until a small amount of mixture dropped in cold water separates into hard and brittle threads.
    Remove from heat and quickly stir in butter or margarine and baking soda.
    Immediately pour into greased cookie sheet.
    Cool.
    Snap candy into small pieces. Store in tightly covered container.
