Southern Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. dark (Karo) syrup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. flour
    2 large eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 1/4 c. pecan halves
    1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
Preparation
    Beat together sugar, syrup, salt, flour and eggs.
    Add vanilla, butter and pecans.
    Pour into unbaked pie shell.
    (Turn pecan halves, rounded side up.)
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for about 1 hour, until filling is set.
    Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
