Dried Beans And Sausage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. Great Northern beans
    2 onions, chopped
    1 lb. pork sausage
    1 qt. water
Preparation
    Pick over beans and wash well.
    Put in a large pot with the water and let it come to a boil.
    Turn off heat and let stand about one hour.
    Return to boil, then reduce heat and let simmer until beans are tender, adding more water as necessary.
    In a large skillet, brown sausage and onions, breaking up the sausage as it cooks.
    Drain fat.
    Stir sausage and onions into the beans and let simmer until beans are very tender.
    Add salt to taste.
