Ingredients

2 c. milk, scalded
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 tsp. oleo
1 tsp. vanilla
vanilla wafers
2 or 3 ripe bananas
Preparation

Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Using small amount of scalded milk, make a paste of sugar mixture.
Add this to the rest of the milk.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
Boil for about 1 minute.
Add egg yolks and cook until thick.
Remove from heat and stir in oleo and vanilla.
In a large bowl, arrange vanilla wafers on bottom and sides.
Slice banana onto wafers.
Pour pudding mixture to cover.
Then layer wafers, bananas and pudding to top of bowl.
May top with meringue if you wish.
