Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. sliced squash
    2 c. sliced onions
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 c. diced green peppers
    1 c. cider vinegar
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
Preparation
    Combine squash and onions.
    Sprinkle with salt and let stand 1 hour.
    Combine green pepper, vinegar, sugar, celery seed and mustard seed.
    Bring this to a boil.
    Add squash and onion; let simmer, then return to a boil.
    Pack pickles into hot, sterilized jars.
    Cover with vinegar mixture and seal.
    Yield: 2 quarts.
