Christmas Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 or 9 large cucumbers
    2 (8 oz.) jars maraschino cherries
    7 c. sugar
    2 c. white vinegar
    1/2 tsp. oil of cloves
    1/2 tsp. oil of cinnamon
Preparation
    Peel cucumbers. Remove seeds and cut in chunks.
    Cover with boiling water.
    Cook until transparent (about 15 minutes). Drain.
