Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. rice
    1 1/2 c. sliced onions
    3 whole cloves
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
    4 Tbsp. green pepper
    3 Tbsp. fat or oleo
    1 bay leaf
    3 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Cook sliced onion and pepper in fat until soft, then add bay leaf, cloves, tomatoes, sugar and salt.
    Simmer 15 minutes.
    Add cooked rice.
    Bake in casserole about 30 minutes in moderate oven.
