Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white or yellow cornmeal
    1 c. milk
    1 can creamed corn (No. 303)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. melted shortening
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 lb. ground beef
    2 jalapeno peppers or diced onion or chili powder
Preparation
    Mix meal, salt and soda together.
    Add corn, shortening and eggs; beat well.
    Cook ground meat; set aside.
    Heat and grease large skillet.
    Pour half of batter into it.
    Pour meat on top of batter; sprinkle with cheese and onion and peppers.
    Pour rest of batter over all ingredients.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Bake for 45 minutes or until brown.
