Icebox Cucumbers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. peeled and sliced cucumbers
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. diced onion (optional)
    1 c. diced green pepper (optional)
    1 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. celery seed or mustard seed
Preparation
    Add salt to cucumbers; let stand 1 hour.
    Drain.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Put in covered jar.
    Will keep up to 1 month in refrigerator.
