Pepper Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. water
3/4 c. wine vinegar
3 Tbsp. soy sauce
6 whole cloves
4 whole black peppers
3 bay leaves
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 medium onion, sliced
1 1/2 lb. round steak, cut across grain into very thin strips
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 green pepper, cut into strips
1 large tomato, cut into 8 wedges
1 (3 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation

Combine 1 1/2 cups water with next 2 ingredients.
Add next 7 ingredients; pour over meat.
Let marinate at least 3 hours. Drain.
Keep onion and 1 1/2 cups marinade.
