Pork Chops And Sauerkraut - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. oil
    4 pork chops, cut 1-inch thick (about 2 lb.)
    salt and pepper
    1/2 c. thinly sliced onions
    1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, undrained
    1/2 tsp. caraway seed
    1 tart apple, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    In a heat-resistant, non metallic skillet, heat oil on a conventional surface until hot.
    Sear pork chops on both sides until browned.
    Sprinkle chops lightly with salt and pepper to taste.
    Arrange onion and sauerkraut over pork chops.
    Heat, covered, on simmer for 10 minutes.
    Sprinkle caraway seed over sauerkraut and arrange apple slices on top.
    Add water and heat, covered, on simmer for 10 minutes.
    Heat, uncovered, on simmer for 10 minutes or until chops are tender.
    Pork should always be cooked well done.
