Hot Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers, washed
    hot peppers (red, dried)
    alum
    garlic
    dill seed or weed
    white vinegar
    plain salt
Preparation
    Into clean quart jar, place 1 small clove garlic, 1 red pepper, 1 teaspoon alum, 1 teaspoon dill seed or some dill weed. Fill jar with cucumbers packed as tight as possible.
    Fill all holes.
    In pan, boil 13 cups water, 3 cups white vinegar and 1 cup plain salt. Pour over cucumbers and seal with hot lids.
    If jars don't seal well, you can water bath them. Repeat process until all jars are filled with hot liquid.
