Famous Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. Crisco
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. water
3 c. uncooked oats
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. soda

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Mix together until creamy the sugars and shortening.
Add egg, water and vanilla.
Mix well.
Add oats to mixture.
Mix well.
Add dry ingredients to mixture and mix well.
Drop by rounded teaspoonsful or roll in ball about the size of a walnut.
Place on greased cookie sheet and press down lightly.
Bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until slightly brown.
Yields about 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
