Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. margarine, softened
    3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt (optional)
    3 c. Quaker oats (quick or old-fashioned, uncooked)
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
    3/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Beat together margarine and sugars until light and fluffy.
    Add egg and vanilla; beat until well blended. Gradually add combined flour, baking soda and salt, mixing well. Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts.
    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake 9 to 11 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
    Makes 6 dozen cookies.
