Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 eggs, beaten
    3 c. plain flour
    2 sticks butter
    3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. sweet milk
Preparation
    Beat eggs and set aside.
    Mix baking powder with flour.
    Cream sugar, butter and shortening with eggs.
    Add flour mixture and sweet milk (a little at a time).
    Add flavoring.
    Pour into greased and floured pan.
    Put in cold oven and turn heat to 350\u00b0; bake for 1 hour or until done.
    Test:
    Stick in a toothpick; when it comes out clean, it's done.
