Date And Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. oleo/butter
1 beaten egg
1 pkg. dates, cut up
1 heaping tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
1 3/4 c. flour, sifted 3 times
1 pinch baking powder
1 c. nuts (pecans, cut up)

Preparation

Mix sugar, oleo, beaten egg, dates and sprinkle baking soda over dates.
Add 1 cup boiling water.
Let cool and add flour, baking powder, pinch of salt and nuts.
Bake up to 1 hour at 350\u00b0 in medium greased and floured tubular pan.
