American Chow Mein - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef, browned and seasoned with salt and pepper
    3 stalks sliced celery
    1 to 2 diced onions
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 tsp. sugar
    2 cans bean sprouts or 1 can bean sprouts and 1 can Chinese vegetables
    mushrooms and water chestnuts (optional)
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Add celery, onions, soy sauce and sugar to ground beef; simmer 5 to 10 minutes.
    Transfer to large pan and add bean sprouts, mushrooms, water chestnuts and water.
    Simmer 30 minutes.
    Thicken with flour or cornstarch.
    Serve over rice and Chinese noodles. Add more soy sauce to taste while cooking.
