Ingredients

7 to 7 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. warm milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 cake yeast
1/2 c. shortening
Preparation

Heat milk. Add sugar, salt, yeast and shortening; blend well. Add to flour in a large bowl. Add eggs. Work together; let rise until double in bulk. Work down; let rise again. Roll and cut; let rise and then fry in hot oil. Be careful not to puncture doughnut when turning.
