Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. orange juice
    1 c. vegetable oil (I use Crisco oil)
    2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    4 eggs
    3 c. plain flour (Red Band)
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. peeled and chopped apples
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. chopped pecan nuts
Preparation
    Peel apples and pour 1/2 cup sugar over apples; set aside. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and cinnamon; set aside.
    Cream oil and 2 cups sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, cream well.
    Add vanilla, mix.
    Add flour mixture.
    Fold in nuts and apples, mix well.
    Pour in well-greased and floured large tube pan.
    Bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
    Cool for 10 minutes.
    Turn out, then ice.
