Gourmet Beef Fricassee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. stewing beef, cubed
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. basil leaves
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 medium onion, sliced
    2 c. water
    4 tsp. flour
Preparation
    Brown meat in hot fat.
    Add remaining ingredients, except flour.
    Cover and simmer 2 hours.
    Blend flour with a small amount of cold water; add to meat.
    Cook until thick.
    Serve with rice, noodles or mashed potatoes.
    Serves 6 to 8.
