Frosted Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 egg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. Karo syrup
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. boiling water
    2 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Sift the flour and spices.
    Cream the sugar and Crisco.
    Add the egg.
    Put the 1 teaspoon of soda in boiling water.
    Add the molasses and syrup.
    Add the soda and water alternately with flour. Pour into an 8 x 8-inch greased pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out of the center of cake clean.
    Frost with a light icing or serve with whipped cream.
