1932 Christmas Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. lard or shortening
    4 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    6 eggs
    1/2 c. cold coffee
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 lb. blanched almonds
    1/2 lb. English walnuts
    1/2 lb. black walnuts
    1/2 lb. dates
    1 lb. currants
    1 lb. raisins
    candied cherries
    1 Tbsp. citron
    1/2 oz. lemon peel
    1/2 ox. orange peel
    1/2 oz. candied pineapple
    1 c. fruit juice or wine
Preparation
    Cream fat and sugar.
    Add well beaten eggs.
    Beat 5 minutes. Add 2 cups flour, fruit juice and coffee.
    Sift rest of flour, spices, soda and salt over currants, dates, raisins, cherries, citron, orange, lemon and pineapple.
    Add floured mixture to creamed mixture. Fold in nuts and mix thoroughly.
