2/3 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
3/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c. water
5 cans (1 lb. each) beans, drained*

*Any combination of kidney beans, green beans, great northern beans, lima beans, wax beans, black eyed peas, or garbanzo beans may be used.
