Honey Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. honey
    1 egg, separated
    2 sq. chocolate, melted
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 c. sour milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. Cream shortening with sugar and honey until fluffy. Add egg yolk and chocolate; beat thoroughly. Add sifted ingredients and liquids alternately in small amounts. Beat egg white until stiff and fold into batter. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes. Spread fig filling between layers and ice with caramel icing. Makes 2 (9-inch) layers.
