Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German or Swiss chocolate cake mix
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 c. oil
    1 c. water
    3 eggs
    1 can sweetened condensed milk (to be divided)
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    In a bowl, cut margarine in cake mix with fork.
    Add water, oil, eggs and 1/2 can of condensed milk.
    Pour 1/2 batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Melt caramels and 1/2 condensed milk in double boiler.
    Stir in chopped pecans.
    Spread on hot half of cake.
    Add remaining 1/2 of cake batter and bake for 30 minutes.
    Make icing.
