Monkey Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar, divided
3 tsp. ground cinnamon, divided
3/4 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. crushed walnuts
4 (8 oz.) cans refrigerated biscuits (not buttermilk)
Preparation

Combine a cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a container with a tight-fitting lid.
Melt butter, remaining 1 cup sugar and remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon to make syrup.
Open 2 cans of biscuits and cut each biscuit into quarters.
Shake biscuit quarters in container to coat with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Place coated biscuit pieces in bottom of greased tube pan; pour 1/2 the syrup over and sprinkle 1/2 the nuts and 1/2 the raisins over syrup.
Cut remaining 2 cans of biscuits into quarters and shake into container to coat with sugar and cinnamon.
Arrange in tube pan over previous layers; add remaining syrup; sprinkle with remaining nuts and raisins.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes. Remove from pan at once and cool on wire rack.
Yields 12 servings.
