* Calico Beans * - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 slices bacon
    4 medium onions, chopped
    1 (1 lb.) can green beans
    1 (1 lb.) can white lima or butter beans
    1 (1 lb.) can kidney beans
    1 (1 lb.) can pork and beans
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. garlic salt
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Remove bacon drippings; drain and crumble bacon.
    Saute onion in bacon drippings until it is transparent.
    Thoroughly drain onion.
    Drain green beans and lima beans.
    Combine green beans, lima beans, pork and beans, kidney beans and their liquid, onion and bacon.
    Combine brown sugar, vinegar, garlic salt, mustard and pepper.
    Add to bean mixture and mix well.
    Bake, uncovered, in 3-quart casserole or 2 smaller casseroles in oven preheated to 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Serves 16.
