Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. butter (1/2 butter, 1/2 oleo)
    4 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter together. Add eggs.
    Mix soda with buttermilk. Alternately add milk and flour. Mix well.
    Add flavorings last. Grease only tube pan sides and tube. Line bottom of the pan with chopped pecans. Pour batter over nuts.
    Bake slowly at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour or longer. Doesn't need icing.
