Brown Rice With Black Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. oil
    1 medium onion
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes with their juice
    1 (16 oz.) can black beans with juice
    1 tsp. oregano
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder or 1 clove fresh, crushed
    1 1/2 c. brown rice (instant or regular)
Preparation
    In a large, deep skillet, heat oil and stir onion until tender, but not browned.
    Add tomatoes, beans, oregano and garlic powder.
    Bring to a boil.
    Stir in rice.
    Return to a boil.
    Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes or until rice is tender.
