Peanutty Crisscrosses - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. oats, uncooked
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 c. peanut butter
    1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/3 c. water
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    In a large bowl, beat together butter, peanut butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
    Blend in water, egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients; mix well.
    Chill dough for 1 hour.
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten with tines of fork dipped in granulated sugar to form crisscross patterns.
    Bake for 9 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
    Remove to wire racks to cool. Yields 7 dozen.
