Chocolate Cake With Fudge Frosting - cooking recipe

4 (1 ounce) square unsweetened chocolate
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
Fudge Frosting
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation

Combine sugar, cocoa and salt in a heavy saucepan. Stir in milk. Add butter; bring to a boil. Cover and cook over medium heat 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until spreading consistency. Yield: 2 1/4 cups.
