One Egg Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 scant c. flour, sifted once before measuring
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 egg, unbeaten
    3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until light.
    Add egg and beat.
    Add milk and flour alternately, beat well.
    Add vanilla.
    Bake in loaf about 25 minutes.
    Double recipe for 3 ten-inch layers.
