Pie Dough For Fried Pies - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 c. shortening (I use butter flavor Crisco)
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
6 1/2 oz. Carnation milk
Preparation
-
Sift dry ingredients and cut shortening into flour mixture to resemble coarse meal.
Beat 1 egg.
Add 6 1/2 ounces Carnation milk.
Mix and divide into 2 rolls.
Freeze and use as needed. Note:
I pull off a piece of dough, a little larger that a golf ball, roll out and place a saucer on it.
Cut around the saucer. You have a perfect round circle.
I use any can fruit pie filling. Place 1 teaspoon fruit in center of pie dough.
Fold over and be sure you have it pinched together good (or the juice from the fruit will run out).
Best fried in electric skillet.
