Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 pkg. dates, chopped
    1 c. pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Boil sugar and water until it forms a soft ball.
    Add dates, chopped.
    Watch closely to prevent burning.
    Boil 5 minutes longer.
    Remove from fire; beat thoroughly.
    Shape into a roll. Place in wax paper; chill until firm enough to slice.
