Slow Baked Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 6 large, ripe tomatoes, cut in half horizontally
    salt and fresh ground pepper
    2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced
    4 to 6 tsp. olive oil
    3 Tbsp. chopped, fresh basil
Preparation
    Preheat
    oven
    to
    325\u00b0.
    Place
    tomatoes
    on
    a baking sheet, cut
    sides
    up.
    Drizzle on the olive oil and sprinkle with
    salt and pepper.
    Bake in the preheated oven for 2 to 3 hours
    until the
    tomatoes
    collapse and begin to caramelize. Sprinkle
    with the garlic about halfway through the baking and sprinkle with basil just before serving.
    Serve hot or at room temperature. This
    is
    a
    sweet
    and
    savory version of baked tomatoes.
