Fried Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. Crisco
    2 whole eggs
    1 large can evaporated cream
    apples, peaches, raisins, pineapple or apricots
Preparation
    Mix flour, baking powder, salt and shortening until fine.
    Mix eggs with cream.
    Combine with flour mixture.
    Beat until stretchy.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Roll out circles using a small saucer as a guide.
    Fill with fruit that has been cooked, sweetened and cooled overnight.
    Wet edges with pastry brush dipped in water.
    Fold over filling; press with fork tines around edges.
    Fry in deep oil until golden brown.
    Yields 25 servings.
