Beef Roast And Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 lb.) eye round or rump roast
    1/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. oil
    6 c. water
    3 or 4 bay leaves
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Roll roast
    in
    flour
    until
    well
    coated.
    Heat oil in Dutch oven.
    Add
    roast
    and
    brown all sides.
    Add water, bay leaves and sprinkle in salt and pepper; bring to boil.
    Cover, leaving lid open a crack.
    Reduce heat to medium and cook for 2 hours or until
    done.
    One
    to
    2 cups of water may have to be added.
    Turn roast
    over
    several
    times before roast is done. Remove
    roast from
    pot
    and
    slice.
    Return
    slices
    to gravy mixture in pot; cover and simmer on low for 30 minutes.
    Remove bay leaves and discard before serving.
