Quick Next-Mex-Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef, turkey or mixed
    2 medium cloves garlic
    1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 (13 oz.) can chopped tomatoes
    1 (13 oz.) can kidney beans
    6 oz. water or beef broth
    diced jalapeno or chili peppers (optional)
Preparation
    Saute garlic, pepper and onion.
    Scramble meat over medium to high heat; drain.
    Add tomatoes, beans and water (broth).
    Stir and cook 20 minutes over low heat until done.
    (If you prefer a slight sweetness to your chili, add 1 tablespoon sugar as soon as heat is turned down.)
    Add jalapeno and/or chili peppers.
    Cook 5 minutes more.
    Serve with crackers, tortilla chips or over rice, Sloppy Joe style.
