Cranberry Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. cranberries
    3 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    4 c. hot water
    juice of 1 orange
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    ginger ale (see directions for quantity)
    2 sliced bananas
Preparation
    Cook the cranberries in 3 cups water for about 5 minutes (until skins pop open) and strain.
    In another pan, cook sugar and 4 cups hot water for 5 minutes and let cool.
    Add orange and lemon juice; mix in cranberry juice.
    Chill.
    Just before serving, add 1 quart of ginger ale.
    Put in punch bowl.
    Slice bananas into punch bowl.
    Makes about 25 cups.
    It takes 7 1/2 cups of cranberry mixture for each quart of ginger ale.
