Sale Creek Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. strawberries
    1 c. boiling water
    1 pasty shell, baked
    1 c. whipping cream, whipped
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    water (enough to make paste with cornstarch)
Preparation
    Bring to a boil and strain 1 cup smaller strawberries, sugar and boiling water.
    Now add cornstarch mixture.
    Cook over the fire for a couple of minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from fire and beat.
    Return to slow fire and cook slowly until thick. Have ready a baked pie shell.
    Arrange the rest of the berries, which have been washed and picked over, in the shell.
    Pour the hot sauce over them.
    When cool, spread with whipped cream that has been sweetened with powdered sugar over the top.
