Delicious Ritz Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/3 c. shortening
    butter, melted
Preparation
    Sift together flour, soda and sugar.
    Warm milk slowly; do not overheat.
    Dissolve yeast in buttermilk.
    Cut shortening into flour mixture as for biscuits.
    Stir in buttermilk and dry ingredients.
    Turn dough out onto floured board; knead just until smooth.
    Roll to 1/4-inch thickness; cut with biscuit cutter. Brush top of each round with melted butter.
    Place one biscuit on top of another, making double biscuits.
    Cover; let rise about 1 hour until light and doubled.
    Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Yields 18 biscuits.
