Cabbage Soup (Diet) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head cabbage, shredded
    1 can French-style green beans
    1 can mushrooms with liquid (optional)
    3 stalks celery, chopped
    3 c. tomato juice
    carrots (optional)
    onion flakes (optional)
    2 to 3 beef bouillon cubes
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 c. powdered nonfat milk
    3/4 c. cornstarch
    1/4 c. or less instant chicken bouillon
    2 Tbsp. dried onion flakes
    1 tsp. basil leaves
    1 tsp. thyme leaves
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, mixing well.
    Store in airtight container until ready to use.
    To substitute for one can of condensed soup, combine 1/3 cup dry soup mix with 1 1/4 cups of cold water in a saucepan.
    Cook and stir until thickened.
    Add to casseroles as you would the canned product.
    Makes equivalent of 9 cans of soup.
