Old Fashioned Soft Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sour milk
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add molasses and mix well.
    Then drop in the eggs, beating well after each addition.
    Sift flour, salt, soda and spices together and add to the creamed mixture alternately with the sour milk.
    Place in 8 x 12-inch pan and sprinkle top generously with sugar.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Serve large steaming squares with plenty of whipped or ice cream.
