Pumpkin Butter - cooking recipe

1 (20 oz.) can pumpkin or equivalent amount of fresh pumpkin, cooked
1 Tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 box Sure-Jell pectin
4 1/2 c. sugar
Preparation

Put pumpkin, Sure-Jell and spice in large saucepan and mix well. Place over high heat and stir until mixture comes to a hard boil. Immediately add sugar and stir. Bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; ladle into glasses and jars, cover with 1/8-inch hot paraffin at once. Makes about 7 (6 ounce) glasses or jars.
