Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. orange slices, cut up
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, cut up
2 c. chopped English walnuts
1 (3 1/2 oz.) can coconut
1/2 c. flour
1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Sift together 3 1/2 cups flour and salt. Combine orange slices, dates, walnuts and coconut with 1/2 cup flour.
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Combine soda and buttermilk. Mix with flour mixture. Beat well. Fold in candy and nuts; mix well.
Turn into 10-inch tube pan, greased well and floured. Bake at 250\u00b0 for 2 hours and 25 minutes.
