Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 firm green tomatoes
    1 egg
    1/3 c. milk
    dash of hot pepper sauce
    1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
    4 to 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter
Preparation
    Cut tomatoes into 1/2-inch slices.
    Beat egg, milk and hot pepper sauce in a shallow bowl.
    Combine bread crumbs with salt and pepper in a pan.
    Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
    Dip tomato slices in the mild mixture, shaking off any excess, then lightly coat with crumbs.
    Fry a few slices at a time until golden, about 2 minutes on each side.
    Fry remaining tomato slices, adding more butter to skillet as needed. Drain on paper towel.
